Candidates Call to Serve

There are three Board of Director positions and two Supervisory Committee positions for the 2025 ballot. Harborstone is seeking community-oriented candidates with an appreciation for and experience with credit unions/collective entities. For the Board, Harborstone seeks members who are or have been an entrepreneur/small business owner and who have financial literacy/competency. For the Supervisory Committee, financial audit and/or regulatory compliance experience is preferred. The Board wishes to broaden member representation on the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, focusing on diversity consistent with Harborstone’s membership, and encourages members to consider becoming a candidate.

Each candidate must be able to make the required term-of-office commitment, attend all regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in planning sessions. Each elected candidate shall contribute to Harborstone’s safety, soundness, and mission to serve the membership and local communities.

Terms of Office:

  • The three Director positions have three-year terms of office.
  • The two Supervisory Committee positions have three-year terms of office.

Board of Directors Qualifications

  • Be a current member of the Credit Union for the past 12 continuous months.
  • Satisfy any bonding requirements of the Credit Union.
  • Agree and comply with the terms of the Credit Union’s Code of Ethics Policy.
  • Not be an immediate family member of an employee of the Credit Union. For purposes of this requirement, an immediate family member shall be limited to spouses, parents, siblings, and children of an employee.
  • Be eligible to vote in Credit Union elections and at membership meetings.
  • Not have been employed by the Credit Union or any subsidiary during the past three (3) years.

Supervisory Committee Qualifications

  • All of the above (qualification requirements for Board of Director Positions).
  • Not be an employee or officer of the Credit Union or a member of the Credit or Investment Committee.

Interested candidates must submit the following documents by November 13, 2024:

  • A copy of your resume.
  • A letter that authenticates your membership in the Credit Union.
  • A statement of your willingness to serve.

Nomination by petition:

Any qualified member who wishes to be a candidate for a Board or Supervisory Committee position, and who meets the qualification requirements, may collect the signatures of 500 eligible members and submit a petition to the Credit Union’s Nominating Committee by November 20, 2024. A statement of willingness to serve must accompany the petition. Please mail the documents to the above address.
